Angela Lansbury (Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast) Singing is Charming!

Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time.

Angela Lansbury proved once again she’s a force to be reckoned with.
Lansbury appeared at the 25th anniversary screening of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City on Sunday, Sept 18, 2016, along with the film’s other stars Paige O’Hara (voice of Belle), Robby Benson (voice of the Beast) and Richard White (voice of Gaston). Following the screening, the 90-year-old virtuoso surprised the audience with a live performance.

The Manchurian Candidate was as the voice of the singing teapot Mrs. Potts in the 1991 Disney animation Beauty and the Beast, an appearance that she considered to be a gift to her three grandchildren. Lansbury performed the title song to the film, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.
